Summer 2015 Newsletter
My dear Friends and Customers,
Welcome to Summer: it was a long time coming. As the world warms to the kiss of the sun and the flowers and trees burst into life my thoughts turn to plans for sewing and creating beautiful things to warm our hearts through the next winter.
June and July are a great opportunity to take advantage of the "Sew into Summer" sale. It makes sense to update your sewing room now so that you are ready to stitch your way through the busy Thanksgiving decorating, Halloween costume making and Christmas gift making seasons. Treat yourself to an incredible new machine and turn the drudgery into fun.
Our plans are to restart the Pfaff/Husqbarna embroidery club which will be meeting one Saturday per month when we will get together to learn new techniques, exchange ideas and generally explore all of the possibilities and potentials of our embroidery machines.
Dee will of course continue to teach her ever popular garment construction courses and specific specialized technique classes.
Serger continues to be our most under-utilized machine and we aim to change that. Vera is our expert in that department and boy can she teach us all a lot.
The Christmas quicky classes were a great success last year and we have a new line up of fast, economical and creative projects for this November.
Lots of new fabrics continue to arrive and are perfect for quilting. We will be having some classes on small quilting projects and if you are interested perhaps a block of the month project to keep us warm over the winter.
We still do machine repairs to all makes and models and there will be a sale on servicing this fall.
We are still in the process of firming up the dates and times for all of these activities and we will be posting on our facebook and website as soon as we have firm dates.
On a more personal note, Diana Von Gruning, our fashion designer (you'll find fer on facebook) is off to college this fall and I an sure that we all wish her well. Vera and John Hugel are the proud new grandparents of a healthy baby boy. We congratulate the new grandparents and wish them all the love, joy and happiness that a new baby brings. Joe and I are looking forward to not one but two great-grandchildren this fall. Holy cow, where did the years go?
Thank you for your continued support
